The Che Kung Temple is one of the most famous temple in Hong Kong. This Temple was built at the end of the Ming Dynasty, some three hundred years ago. According to the legend, the Temple was built following a plague in the nine districts of Sha Tin. Some farmers prayed to Che Kung, a famous General of the Sung Dynasty. To rid them of the epidemic. Other villages soon followed and the plague subsided. As a result, the villagers built the Temple to commemorate this event and seek eternal blessing from Che Kung.
